Before you ask for a quote, decide
- New driveway or replacement of an existing one, including demolition and removal?
- Approximate size and shape, and any slopes or drainage problems?
- Whether a deadline applies, such as a move-in date or a planned event.
Questions to ask every company
- What exactly is included: dimensions, slab thickness, reinforcement, base preparation and depth, finish, drainage, demolition and removal if it is a replacement, and warranty terms?
- How do you prepare the base, what drainage and grading do you build, and what reinforcement do you use for real vehicle loads?
- What concrete mix and finish do you recommend for my driveway and why (broom, exposed aggregate, stamped, colored or stained)?
- Who does the work — your own crew or subcontractors — what is the timeline, and what disruption should I expect, including curing time before driving on it?
- What does the warranty cover, for how long, and what maintenance does it require?
- Is the price a firm written quote for this exact scope, and what would change it?
